How should I prepare the protein coffee?
Our VHEY®presso is quick and easy to prepare: pour 350 ml of water or plant-based drink into a shaker and add 30 g of powder (about 3 heaped tablespoons). Shake well until the powder has completely dissolved.
Please note: Do not heat the VHEY®presso too much, as this will cause the protein to flocculate. This process is also known as denaturation. Proteins change their shape when heated. However, this does not affect the quality of the protein, it just looks a little unappetizing. To avoid this, you should prepare the protein coffee with lukewarm water.
Tip: In summer, you can also enjoy the protein coffee with ice cubes as a creamy iced coffee.
What is the maximum amount of caffeine I should consume?
According to the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority), the maximum daily caffeine intake for healthy adults should be 400 mg. This corresponds to about 4-5 cups of filter coffee.
What happens if I consume too much caffeine?
Consuming too much caffeine can quickly become unpleasant. The body's reactions to caffeine are very individual and can vary in severity. Symptoms such as heart palpitations, muscle twitching, sweating, stomach problems, and restlessness can occur, as well as severe cardiac arrhythmia, cramps, vomiting, and circulatory problems. You should therefore not exceed the recommended upper limit of 400 mg of caffeine per day. It is also important to listen to your body and find the amount that is right for you.
